Cajun Pawn Stars - Reviews?
Have you seen Cajun Pawn Stars? It's another reality show, similar to the original Pawn Stars, but this one takes place in the Silver Dollar Pawn & Jewelry Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.
It follows the same format as the original – people come in with interesting items, the store owners talk about the history behind the items, and there's a trivia question at the second commercial break. The pawn shop owners are Jimmie DeRamus, his wife Peggy, his brother Johnnie and the owners' daughter Tammie. There are a few employees at the shop – Tina, Walt, Robbie and a gun expert, Gary. I don't care for the fact that it's the same format as the other one, which starts to get boring after a while.
Also, I have trouble understanding them sometimes, due to the Cajun accent, which is sweet, but difficult to understand in some situations. I also find Tammie to be a little annoying. She tries to be cute, but she seems weird. What do you all think? And what about that gun expert?
He doesn't really seem to know what he's talking about all the time. I think I know more about guns than he does. Did you see the episode with the neat 1700's flintlock gun that was supposedly brought to Louisiana by pirates? It was pretty cool looking.
I personally think that Joker is a very poor substitute for Chum Lee from the original show.
May be I just don't get the whole southern humor thing.
Yeah but everything is always planted in those shows! That old gun was probably borrowed from a museum for the day of the shoot and then returned! But agree, Shri, Chum made the show! You never get tired of waiting for a Chum Lee comment!
